AZIPA List Guidelines
Welcome!
If you are not yet an official paid Member, please be sure to officially join - it is quick, easy, and inexpensive to sign up: http://paypal.azipa.org
Please abide by the below guidelines and pick ONLY the ONE most appropriate list (meaning do NOT post the same message to more than one list!)
Note: plain text only, no attachments (they will be automatically stripped off), off-topic posts will be deleted before ever reaching list subscribers.
If it is information about a tech-related event in Arizona, please post it to the AzTech-Events List
News and press releases from Arizona tech related companies and organizations should be posted to the AzTech-Wire List
If you are seeking tech-related work or workers in Arizona, please post to the AzTech-Work List
If it does not fit one of the above lists, and it is Internet related, please post it to the AZIPA Discussion List
If it is not Internet related but it is Tech related, please post it to the AzTechList Discussion List
If it does not fit any of the above lists, please post it to the AzTechOffTopic List
As the value of these lists are directly proportional to the number of other good people on them, please help spread the word!
Please note that these guidelines are not meant to restrict the use of the lists, but rather to be a reminder of the "rules of the road" to help make them a fun and functional place for people to be...
Please do not flame (either publicly or privately) but rather please simply report any perceived list-related problems by forwarding the problem email with your comments to us at contactus@azipa.org
Flaming is defined as attacking someone personally for something they say on a list. Lively debate is encouraged, personal attacks are not.
The no flaming rule applies to everyone. This is to prevent vigilantism of any kind. ***NO*** one should take the law into their own hands - as it poisons the community atmosphere of the list and this community.
These guidelines are similar to driving on the right hand side of the road in the USA - simple rules prevent many wrecks. If someone swerves a little left of center, no big deal - the problems arise when people start taking the law into their own hands by trying to ram anyone who is slightly left of center of the road.
NOTE: Posting to a list is like being the featured speaker in an auditorium of thousands of friends and potential clients, associates, investors, employers, employees, etc, etc, etc. You will become known by what you write and by the respect you show others.
Please respond PRIVATELY to as many posts as possible. There are many interesting people on these lists. Get to know them via personal emails. *** Sometimes the best thing to write to the list is nothing ***
Bickering, flaming, personal attacks, useless sarcasm, provoking people, vigilantism - this kind of stuff is frowned upon. So if you tend to get that way, help yourself out by finding another venue to satisfy these urges - a venue where people like to read OPABE (other peoples arguments by email). Put another way, this is not a debate forum for personal cathartic maintenance, but a place to exchange ideas and information among friends. (Special thanks to the noend list for some of the wording of these List Guidelines!)
Unless otherwise noted, list emails are NOT invitations for sales calls!
By posting to a list, you assume full responsibility for your postings and actions, both on and off list. AZIPA reserves full rights to limit access or posting at its sole discretion. All attachments sent to a list are automatically blocked so as to prevent the inconsiderate postings of large files and also to help block virus transmissions. The lists are not a flea market - if it is something that you would normally see on eBay, please post it there instead. All lists are archived. Note that if you subscribe to any of our lists you will also automatically be subscribed to the main Announcement List.
